Director Dan Guntzelman's "Opening Night" is a documentary about a community theatre, The Kentwood Players, that has been around for over 60 years, producing live entertainment for their Westchester, California neighbors. The film captures the rehearsal process leading up to their production of the quintessential American musical, "Li'l Abner". And it does so with no small debt to jazz great David Benoit, who composed the original score.
