Live @ The Ford - Angel City Jazz Festival
Open Call host Suzanna Guzman welcomes viewers to one of LA's great musical venues, the Ford Amphitheater, to experience the very best of cutting edge music at The Angel City Jazz Festival-Global jam as showcased on KCET's Live @ The Ford series.
Featured performers include one of today's most vital young jazz pianist, Tigran Hamasayan and his band, the Tigran Quintet, and Guggenheim Fellow, alto saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa & his new project, Samdhi, a fusion of Indian melodic sounds with contemporary jazz.
Producer Rocco Somazzi talks about how he and his colleagues chose world music as the theme of the 2011 Angel City Jazz Festival.
