Much has been said about the faults of the Indian education system, but is it in such a bad shape that it is harming the growth of the nation? How is education contributing towards India's development? In the debate: Education is sinking India, The Outsider examines whether education is pulling the country backwards. Speaking for the motion are Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, the Managing Director of Biocon and named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine, and Mohandas Pai, former CFO of Infosys and now Chairman of the Board of Manipal Global Education Services. Opposing the motion are Frazer Mascarenhas, the Principal of St Xavier's College in Mumbai, and Pramath Raj Sinha, the Founding Dean of the Indian School of Business.
