The murder of a prostitute takes DCI Jane Tennison deep into the underworld of teenage prostitution.
DCI Tennison struggles through the pressures of all of the office politics and expectations of her position.
The case becomes mired in prejudice and politics, more than enough for Jane to contend with but nothing compared to the problems she faces when her personal and professional worlds collide.
When the body of a young girl is discovered in a shallow grave in the back of a largely Afro-Caribbean neighborhood, the case comes to DCI Tennison.
In Episode 1 of Prime Suspect 2, DCI Jane Tennison is in top form, having built on the success of her last case and consolidated the hard-won respect of her colleagues.
Episode 4: DCI Jane Tennison feels she has once again been discriminated against when her superiors pass her over in favor of DCI John Shefford to head a murder investigation.
Season 1 - episode 3, DCI Jane Tennison feels she has once again been discriminated against when her superiors pass her over in favor of DCI John Shefford to head a murder investigation. Shefford quickly identifies George Marlow, recently released from prison, as his prime suspect. But when DCI Shefford suffers a massive heart attack, Tennison steps up to assume leadership of the investigation. As the four hours conclude, viewers understand why DCI Tennison has what it takes to succeed in a traditionally male work world.
