The new gardening partnership of Rosemary and Thyme is called in to help a pop star called Nev Connolly and his wife Patsy to create a garden at their new house.
While working on the new garden, a digger uncovers the skeleton of a horse, and Patsy Connolly thinks it could be the remains of Arabica, a horse stolen from stables she once worked at. The same night, Rosemary and Laura are both woken by a gunshot - Nev Connolly has been shot dead.
