Neighbour James Pretty is stopping at nothing to ensure that this does not happen. And how will Rosemary and Laura explain to Agathe, the French housekeeper, when they find Dorothy's husband dead in the living room? For Laura, this return trip to France brings back memories of "little cakes" she discovered years ago on a school trip--what she believed to be called "Raspberry Martyrs" but are actually called "Framboise Marthe" (Raspberry Martha in English).
