Bell Corruption Scandal: Making Sense of the Verdicts

One of the worst corruption scandals in recent Southern California history took place in the small community of Bell, where some of the employees were charged with pocketing hundreds of thousands of dollars for jobs that usually paid a tenth of that amount. On May 20th, after three weeks of jury deliberation, five of the six defendants were found guilty.

Jeff Gottlieb was part of the team that won a Pulitzer Prize for uncovering the scandal for the Los Angeles Times. He shared his insights on the verdict with Val.
