How L.A. Can Fix Its Iconic Eyesores

In a recent column, L.A. Times architecture critic Christopher Hawthorne slams the city's iconic public places, from LAX to the L.A. River to Pershing Square. He calls them depressing, dispiriting eyesores -- punchlines. And he has some ideas for improving them. He shares some of those ideas with Madeleine.
