When I was teaching English, my students read this story by Mark Twain- "The Coyote." If you read it, you will find this beast is the most smart and sophisticated of animals. I enjoy their yips and howls on the desert hills around my house. My dog, who looks like a coyote, and I sit in our backyard and listen.
