Con Divers

Take a look at perhaps the most unusual prison job rehab program in the country. Here, convicts are trained to become deep-water divers and graduate to well-paying — and sometimes dangerous — jobs upon their release.

Firing teachers while spending money to train convicts how to dive? I didn't think the prison guard union was more powerful than the teacher's union.

Haha. "Add a little water to a whole lot o' toughness." Good one, Val.

In this cruel California climate of "lock-em-up" and "throw-away-the-key" it is wonderful to see and hear some GOOD NEWS. If we don't solve the revolving door and awful recidivism rate in California, we'll be paying terrible taxes to house all these "EVIL" Californians, instead of paying reasonable taxes to pay our teachers to educate our future Californians.

Guess what, those who seek revenge! These successful divers will be OUTSIDE of the prisons soon and paying taxes instead of sucking up more of our tax dollars.

My uncle was part of this. These guys are really trying to turn their lives around and i think this is a good program. I think now that my Uncle has been in this program that he will finally be able to be a helping part of society. Thank you to those that were able to make this available to them! My Uncle will make it to the end our family believes in him.
Love you UNCLE LARRY!!! =)
