Speaking in favour of the motion Politics should no longer be a family business are Sitaram Yechury, a senior member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Sudheendra Kulkarni, a member of the National Executive of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The team opposing the motion are Rita Bahuguna Joshi, the President of the Uttar Pradesh Committee of the Indian National Congress party and Kalikesh Singh Deo, a leader of the Biju Janata Dal.
