Theatreland" is the name that the Brits have given to London's West End, a part of the city which is home to 45 theaters within one square mile. Each year 14 million people attend performances there. Having housed performances by all of the "greats of the stage, Theatre Royal Haymarket is one of the most famous of the theaters. In 2009, it mounted an historical production of Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot starring two of the most commanding names in acting, Sir Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart. THEATRELAND goes behind the scenes of this important theatrical event from rehearsals to opening night.
