Kurt Wallander is called in to investigate when a light plane crashes near a beach, and a detonated armor-piercing shell is found in the wreckage. A few days later, two elderly sisters are killed when a sewing supplies shop blows up. Traces of advanced explosives are found in the ruins, and evidence soon mounts to indicate that both events are tied to a showdown between rival drug gangs. Wallander makes a strange discovery about one of the suspects, which leads him back to a traumatic experience from his early days on the police force... Based on the short story by Henning Mankell. Directed by Daniel Lind Lagerlöf, 2007. In Swedish with English subtitles.
