In "Passages in Caregiving," author Gail Sheehy relates a moving story that occurred at the end of the 17 years she cared for her husband. She describes how they both knew that his time was very limited but he didn't want to just wait at home - he wanted to go out and "do something." Ms. Sheehy describes to "Your Turn to Care" how that one night was a remarkable memory that she will always have, and how all caregivers have an opportunity to make their own special memories with those they care for.
