Manuel and Anita
Algerine Correia's parents, Manuel, 92, and Anita, 88, have lived with her for the past three years. Manuel immigrated to America from Portugal and worked as a commercial fisherman. He met his wife Anita, 88, on a trip to Costa Rica. They raised five children together in San Diego and have been married for 67 years. Although still a tight-knit clan, the five Correia children had all moved away from the San Diego area. So when they became concerned about the deterioration of their parents' health, no one was close enough to check on them daily. So they decided to sell their parents' house and move them to Los Angeles to live with Algerine, the eldest sibling.
