Her story: Natalia Alvarado was born in Mexico, raised two children and was known for making the best tortillas in the neighborhood. About eight years ago, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Her personality started changing, she became frustrated and confused. She could no longer cook or tend to the roses she so loved in her garden. As her condition continued to decline, the care she needed became increasingly more demanding on her children who were living with her in the home where they were raised. Now that she's living in an assisted living facility, Natalia is happy and well cared for.
