Is Our Senior Family Member Okay To Drive?

Occupational therapist, Purnima Karia, tells how she assesses a senior's ability to continue driving. Our story follows Dr. Karia as she observes a senior while she drives for 60 - 70 minutes. To drive safely requires both physical capacity as well as strong cognitive skills. When driving with a senior, she is keeping an eye out for signs of "cognitive fatigue" which can lead to high risk mistakes. Finally, Dr. Karia gives pointers for how a family can help their senior driver accept the recommendation that it is time to take the keys away.
