Monica Potter currently stars on NBC's breakout hit, Parenthood, as Kristina Braverman, a mom struggling to raise two kids. Monica is a mother of three and hopes to use the exposure from Parenthood to bring her views on parenting and family life to a wider audience.
In 2009, she starred in TNT's Trust Me while also appearing on the big screen in The Last House on the Left alongside Sara Paxton. In 2008, Monica starred in the comedy Lower Learning with Jason Biggs and Eva Longoria Parker.
Monica has appeared in several popular films with some of Hollywood's most celebrated actors. She can be seen in Con Air with Nicolas Cage and starring opposite Robin Williams in Patch Adams. In 1999, she was pictured on the cover of Vanity Fair's annual Hollywood issue, where she was photographed in the company of rising stars such as Sarah Polley, Giovanni Ribisi and Adrien Brody.
In 2001 she co-starred with Freddie Prinze Jr. in the romantic comedy Head Over Heels and with Morgan Freeman in the suspenseful thriller Along Came a Spider. Monica played the title role in I'm With Lucy alongside David Boreanz and starred in the cult-favorite horror film Saw. She returned to television in USA's original Reversible Errors and was nominated for a SAG award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for her work on Boston Legal.
One of four daughters, Monica grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. At the age of twelve she started modeling and appearing in commercials before deciding to pursue acting. In 1994, Monica moved to Los Angeles and began her career on television on the daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless as Sharon Abbot.
Monica resides in Los Angeles.
