SoCal Connected, both online and on air, is dedicated to bringing you the most important and compelling stories - and voices - shaping life in our region.

Executive Producer
Bret Marcus, Executive Producer of SoCal Connected has won 13 Emmys, three Columbia duPont awards, and one Peabody award. At KCET, Marcus has produced California Connected, California at War and Global Watch. He has also worked at ABC and NBC News, as well as MSNBC and CNBC. At KCET, he is also Senior Vice President for Programming and Production.

Val Zavala
Anchor
Val Zavala, Anchor of SoCal Connected, has been a reporter, producer or anchor at KCET since 1987, and has won numerous L.A. Area Emmy awards and Golden Mikes primarily for her work on Life & Times from 1992 to 2007.
