The Spring KCET Cinema Series kicks off February 28 at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in North Hollywood. One of films that will screened at the series is Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, staring Ewan McGregor and Kristin Scott Thomas. It is a comedy based on the best-selling novel by Paul Torday. The KCET Cinema Series hosted a special screening of Tomas Alfredson's adaptation of John le Carré's "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica on December 3rd, 2011. After the screening, Socal Connected's Val Zavala presented Gary Oldman with the KCET Lumiere Award, an award established to recognize excellence in an actor or filmmaker for their outstanding contribution in their discipline.
