Artist or Sign Painter? Richard Ankrom's Notorious Signs

In 2001, Richard Ankrom was widely recognized as a guerrilla artist by the media for his installation of North and Interstate 5 traffic signage along the 110 Freeway, however, few may know him as a sign painter.
More than any other neighborhood in Los Angeles, Highland Park's cyclical history can be seen as a microcosm of the evolution of our city as a whole, each era creating the context from the the next generation emerges.
