Congratulations to Grethel Ruelas and her winning map for the Power of Place: Map Your L.A. Contest Part Two. As the winner, Grethel will receive a poster size map of Los Angles as it appeared in 1871 complete with Ranchos that preceded the communities known today. Also, special thanks to the invaluable contributions fromall of our contestants.

This contest, like the original, developed into a visual conversation about Los Angeles County as a home and addressed social issues important to the participating cartographer. Participants helped to illustrate Los Angeles with a diverse, compelling and intimate character that we enjoyed sharing with the rest of the community.
