Departures sponsors and hosts one day community events for locals to share their stories about their neighborhood.

Departures has produced various installments exploring neighbhorhoods throughout Los Angeles including Boyle Heights, Watts, Eagle Rock, Venice, Chinatown, Richland Farms/Compton, and the LA River.

These are installments are rich experiences filled with interviews from residents, local community leaders, and celebrities, but no story is ever the same. From historical accounts of migrating to Los Angeles from Cambodia to struggling for equality, fighting drug abuse through poetry to painting a mile long mural, each individual has a unique story about coming to, fitting in, or making it in Los Angeles.
