Enjoy an easy walk or bike ride, try some fishing or just enjoy the sights and sounds of this soft-bottomed section of the river where birds, fish and lush plant life thrive. The newly-renovated bike path runs along the west bank, passing numerous small pocket parks. The bike path ends at Egret Park, which is a good place for a rest before turning around.
Begin at Fletcher Drive as it passes over the river and head downriver. After 2.5 miles the bike path appears and the soft-bottom channel peters out.

Rio de Los Angeles State Park is a 17-acre park, opened in 2007, that offers open space, soccer fields, restrooms, and a natural habitat hiking path. It is currently separated from the river by railroad tracks and the Taylor rail yard. In the future, the plan is to connect it to the Taylor Yard and river.
