A RIVERSIDE PATH WITH SHADE AND SCENERY that lets you explore the banks. Keep a lookout for the two rock ledges. You will be rewarded with wonderful encounters with an assortment of birds. People also fish for carp here.

As you enter Lake Balboa Park, across from the big colorful playground, take one of several short paths that lead to the river.

Across from the playground, Lake Balboa Park, Van Nuys.

CAR: Take the Burbank Exit off the 405 Freeway. Head west down Burbank Boulevard. Make a right on Balboa. Continue down until reaching Balboa Park.

TRANSIT: Take the Orange Line to Balboa Station. Walk south until reaching the Balboa Park entrance.
