Christopher Nyerges, Wilderness Expert and Outdoor Survivor Instructor
Borrowing on Native American skills and instincts, pre-eminent Los Angeles survivalist Christopher Nyerges has authored several books (Self-Sufficient Home: How to Go Green and Save Money, How to Survive Anywhere, and Guide to Wild Foods) and articles on outdoor survival using his vast knowledge of Native American culture and history. He teaches weekly outdoor urban workshops on survival, sustainability and urban wildlife. Nyerges is a longtime Highland Park resident and homeowner. He contributes to our understanding of natural resources in the Arroyo Seco and the changing attitudes toward community to its built environment.
