Jeff Chapman, a native Angeleno, is the director of the Audubon Center at Debs Park in Highland Park. Since the center opened in 2003 its seen rising records highs for visitors, education program participation and outdoor programming. The center works hard to build trust and relationships with its neighboring community offering a gamut of fun and educational programs to inform the public on the character, benefits and issues involving the local ecology. In "Reinterpreting Highland Park" Chapman explains the value of the Audubon Center to the Highland Park community and details the efforts to restore the nearby Arroyo Seco.
