Patricia Parra is a longtime Highland Park resident and local activist. In the 1970s, while romantically involved with Carlos Alamaraz
, an influential Chicano street art artist and activist, she helped form the collective, Corazon Productions
, in her Aldama Street home. At the time Parra studied law and actively contributed to bring a legislative consciousness to the art activism generated in Highland Park. She discusses her role the collective and the issues concerning her peers in our "Painting the Walls" chapter of Departures: Highland Park.
