Particia Parra is a longtime Highland Park resident and local activist. In the 1970s, while romantically involved with Carlos Alamaraz, an influential Chicano street art artist and activist, she helped form the collective, Corazon Productions, in her Aldama Street home. At the time Parra studied law and actively contributed to bring a legislative consciousness to the art activism generated in Highland Park. She discusses her role the collective and the issues concerning her peers in our "Painting the Walls" chapter of Departures: Highland Park.
