Suzanne Lummis, granddaughter of the great Charles Lummis, is the director and founder of the Los Angeles Poetry Festival. Since 1991, she has taught poetry at the UCLA Extension Program. Suzanne, like her grandfather, maintains ties with Highland Park: she performed in the webseries "Avenue 43" and has participated in poetry readings at the Avenue 50 Studio over the years. Suzanne's familial knowledge of Charles Lummis helps us consider the motives behind his work in addition to exposing the pitfalls of a man battling with his own shortcomings.
