This is part of a series examining Restorative Justice in schools and communities, produced in partnership with the California Endowment.
Restorative Justice in schools is about a culture shift away from overly punitive disciplinary systems and towards a restorative model which uses the practice of dialogue in circles as a way of building community and repairing relationships. "Circles" is a Las Fotos Project media series using photography and audio to capture Restorative Justice in schools.
This is Gaby's story; a cheerleader at Roosevelt High School who uses "circles" with her classmates and cheer team.
All images were created by Lorena Arroyo, age 17, from Boyle Heights, CA.
