The Cornfields is a state park in Chinatown next to the Metro Gold Line stop. It is referred to as the "Cornfields" because that was what it was prior to being transformed into a state park. Trees, grass, and a dirt trail now cover the area. Our Students Run Los Angeles (SRLA) group have our running practice there every Sunday morning during the season. I interviewed Ivan Wu, my arch enemy. He is also a fellow member of SRLA. It was fun interviewing Ivan because he would always stroke his chin as if he had a beard. I learned that even though it is a dread practicing all the time, the free stuff always kept him going.
