I am in 12th grade. I go to the Sonia Sotomayor Learning Academies- Los Angeles River School. The most important thing to know about me is I want to become a nurse and be able to help people with my career choice. Another thing might be that I have lived in Los Angeles my entire lifetime. The neighborhoods I call home are Elysian Valley and Silver lake. I've live in Elysian Valley since I was two years old, but since Silver lake is really close I have spent a lot of time in that neighborhood as well. I feel comfortable in that neighborhood and call it home as well. The L.A. River is very close to my house, there is an entrance like 1 or 2 minutes from my house.
Where is the first and last place you would take a new visitor in your neighborhood?
The first place would be the Silver Lake Reservoir. I love it there and you get to really see a lot of different kinds of people. One place I would take them last is the park because it's become more of a hang out for other people not just for family and family orientated people.
What object connects you to your neighborhood?
One item that connects me to my neighborhood is a rock (not just one but that's what I brought.) A rock connects me by giving me memories of when I was younger and my family and I would go bike riding along the bike path in the L.A. River when it wasn't that bike friendly.
