Community Connections: Meet Maria Trujillo

Maria holds up her Metro Tap Card.

I'm a 12th grader that attends the Los Angeles River School. I like to draw and hope to become an architect one day. Elysian Valley is my home, and the L.A. River is right next to where I live.

Where is the first and last place you would take a new visitor in your neighborhood?
The first place I would take them is to the Observatory because when you're up there you get to see most of Los Angeles. The last place I would take them is the L.A. River because it's like the heart of Los Angeles and I would save the best for last.

What object connects you to your neighborhood?
The object that connects be to the community is my tap card because it's my source of transportation to all the places that I visit around my neighborhood.
