Angie Etienne's Neighborhood Mural

The NELA Riverfront Youth Voices student producers created digital murals of their neighborhood and the places that are meaningful to them. Each mural contains 3 to 4 hot spots and a brief description below of these places and their significance to themselves and their community.

In my mural I selected two of my hotspots to feature. One was my high school, Los Angeles Leadership Academy and the second was the elementary school I volunteer at which is Albion Street Elementary. I selected LALA because it's a place I spend majority of my day at and because it's a place I see as part of, not only my community, but my life. Also Albion Street Elementary is the school I attended as a child so it has much sentimental value.

My favorite part of the mural is when I included my friend Richard's goofy picture of himself because we've become really close since we both attend such a small school like LALA. Another part of the mural I liked was being able to change the pictures I chose to create my mural. Overall it was a fun project and good experience.
