The NELA Riverfront Youth Voices student producers created digital murals of their neighborhood and the places that are meaningful to them. Each mural contains 3 to 4 hot spots and a brief description below of these places and their significance to themselves and their community.
I used four hotspots in my mural. I used Fosters freeze, Vince's Market, Bills Liquor Store, and the Los Angeles River bike path. I selected each spot because they are places I grew up around. They mean a lot to me because I have many memories of these spots. Only some of these spots are important parts of the neighborhood. Vince's market has been a part of the community of Atwater Village for decades. Foster freeze is relatively new compared to Vince's but a scene from Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction" was filmed there, which makes it important especially in movie history. I didn't learn anything new about Atwater Village. My favorite part of my mural is the Echo Part section and the murals.
