The NELA Riverfront Youth Voices student producers created digital murals of their neighborhood and the places that are meaningful to them. Each mural contains 3 to 4 hot spots and a brief description below of these places and their significance to themselves and their community. Click on the image at the bottom to view the mural.
I have about 12 hotspots in my mural. I am going to share a few of them. Annandale Elementary School is the school I went to from K-5 grade. I selected this because I still love that school so much. My nephews go there now so I get to pick them up and still see the school. Not really in my neighborhood but its still one of the best hot spots EVER!! Patra's is a fast food restaurant and it's really good. I get chili cheese fries a lot. I like going there. It's right down my street and a lot of people from my neighborhood eat there so it's local and an okay place to hang out. The L. A. River is the river that's in LA and it runs behind the school I go to, ArtLAB. I went there the other day and it was pretty cool. It's a place I would go to more often. I had neve been to Elysian Valley Park before the field trip we took there. It was a fun day so it's kind of a cool hot spot. Maybe I will go for future things I guess. The Americana is one of the most important hotspots. It is a shopping center and it's so fun whenever my friends and I go. We probably go once a month! ITS REALLY COOL!!!!!! The House of Blues!!! Most special hotspot because that's where I got to see my favorite band up close and got to meet most of the band members! :D
I learned a lot of new things about my neighborhood. Everything is my favorite part of the mural!
