Students will index and log their tapes and capture the footage into iMovie or Final Cut Pro. They will share the footage with the class to discuss their successes and challenges, quality of footage, and summarize the content of the interviews. File management is key to an organized and successful production. Utilizing the "Export Media Guidelines Page"* students will learn to export media files properly.
2. Edit MediaExtending the lessons from Workshop #7 (video production), students will use editing software to cut interviews into 2-5 minute clips based around topics discussed in the interviews. Teacher will review edited footage in groups (the pacing of student editing varies depending on the students, the quality of the interview, and interviewee.) Students will select the videos to be included in the Google Map, and isolate the preselected Departures interviews for delivery to the producers.
