2010 Leaders
In celebration of American Indian Heritage Month, KCET has partnered with the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians to honor outstanding American Indian/Alaskan Native men and women or Indian Nations who have provided great leadership and made significant contributions to enrich our local community.
2010 Leaders:
Ian Skorodin is an iconic American Indian filmmaker and philanthropist who has produced award-winning films and television programs with an American Indian point of view since the early 1990's.
2010 Leaders:
Meet Michelle de Armas, who is of the Pueblo of Isleta American Indian Tribe. de Armas serves as Program Coordinator of Diversity Development for Fox Entertainment Group, whose goal is to incorporate diverse voices into every aspect of the business.
2010 Leaders:
Elton Naswood has been an advocate for HIV/AIDS since 1997, dedicating much of his life to changing the stigma of HIV/AIDS in the American Indian community.
2010 Leaders:
Richard Gomez is the Vice Chairman of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. He helms multiple programs that are aimed toward maintaining his tribe's economic self-sufficiency.
