Local Hero: Kip Fulbeck

Kip Fulbeck is a pioneering artist and filmmaker who specializes in spoken word, personal narrative, identity exploration and pop-culture analysis. His solo art exhibitions have been featured in leading museums including the Japanese American National Museum (2006, 2010 and 2014) in Los Angeles, the Asia Society Houston, and the Field Museum in Chicago.

Alan Nishio is a highly dedicated and respected leader in the Southern California Japanese American community who has spent more than four decades working with multiple generations in social and civic engagement programs.
