  • The couple volunteers together, as a family with their daughter, and separately. As a couple they were honored this year by Na'amat.
  • The couple volunteers for Family Promise, and interfaith organization helping homeless families to achieve lasting independence, as well as Temple Adat Ari El, SOVA, and Habitat for Humanity.
  • For the past five years have participated in Cardboard Box City and Empty Bowl, spending a night experiencing the harsh conditions of homeless people in Los Angeles.

  • Mike went alone as volunteer on a mission to Mississippi for a week to replace roofs and build houses after Hurricane Katrina.

  • Ruth Devine became employed at Family Promise, an organization that partners with various community groups to provide a way out of homelessness for thousands of people in Los Angeles through her volunteer work at Adat Are El.

  • Former members of the Wilshire Boulevard Temple where they ran the WBT food pantry for 10 years.
