Southern Poverty Law Center
When it comes to fighting hate groups, few organizations have been as effective over the decades as the Southern Poverty Law Center. Don't be confused by the name. SPLC has taken down the KKK and other extreme white supremacist organizations. They also fight for the rights of gays and immigrants, and teach tolerance to young people. This short video introduces you to Morris Dees, chief legal counsel and co-founder of the SPLC. He explains how they used the law to break one of the most notorious hate
groups in America, the White Aryan Resistance.

The killing was inspired by the White Aryan Resistance, founded by neo-Nazi Tom Metzger who lived north San Diego County. The Southern Poverty Law Center, led by co-founder and chief legal counsel Morris Dees, used brilliant legal strategy to bankrupt the White Aryan Resistance.
