TTLA Duo Among Top Thinkers
The website, Planetizen, is asking for nominations and then votes regarding the question, "Who do you think is one of the most important urban planners?"
As of this writing, Jane Jacobs is the runaway leader. (She's got 500% or so more votes than her old NYC nemesis, Robert Moses.)
The list features 180 people from throughout history and across geography. The nominees are heavy with people who currently live, work, and/or study Los Angeles.
USC's Manuel Castells is in 23rd place overall, and Dan Rosenfeld, Joel Kotkin, William Fulton, and Mike Davis are among those who've received at least a couple of clicks.
Also, James Rojas -- who emailed TTLA last week -- is in 29th place -- having recently surpassed Thomas Jefferson.
And, Don Shoup -- from this TTLA post -- is in 34th place, far ahead of Buckminster Fuller, Walt Disney, and Pope Sixtus V.
