It's difficult to choose one song, but "Many Moons" is one of my favorites. The lyrics are extremely powerful and it was one of the first songs I heard by Miss Monae.
Effswell says :
I am, and have been, in love with "Neon Valley Street" since the minute I heard it back in the spring of 2010. Not only does the song sound like a dream, but Ms. Monae's lyrics are a genuine prayer to every special listener that her song is not only heard, but absorbed by our very hearts. If Janelle gets a chance to read this, I just want to say Mission Accomplished: your song has reached my heart, and I've been a better person since!
tn says :
i really like tightrope, but cold war is my favorite.

My favorite song from Janelle Monae is "Say You'll Go" from "The ArchAndroid album. That song has brought so many happy memories together for me and the one I love. The lyrics are so powerful, "Our love will sail in this ark. The world could end outside our window. Lets find Forever, and write our names in Fire on eachother's Hearts." So spiritual and intriguing to a relationship that was once damaged because the love was gone. This song has helped us renew that Love we have with one another.
Echoparkgal says :
Janelle Monae has a song for every mood. Each song sends me floating into a different story. Vivid lyrics and colorful sounds spin around like a dream. "Neon Valley Street" is the song that speaks to my heart of beautiful memories. Thank you Janelle.
Trelynd says :
My name is Trelynd.
"Oh, Maker" is my favorite song
Love the album. But this song touched as something universal that pertains to us all. Something we can all relate too.
Thanks

"say you'll go" is really one of the best R&B love songs to have come out in the last ten years (if not ever), and is my absolute favorite song of janelle monae's. it's lyrically epic - using themes from eastern and western cultures to paint a story of a love being something beyond time and mortality. musically, it's a layer cake of sounds that takes some of music's best examples and influences - stevie wonder, jimmy jam and terry lewis, claude debussy - and creates a rich and refreshing music experience that can be played and appreciated over and over again. "say you'll go" is ambitious, big, global, personal, human and timeless all at once.

My favorite Janelle Monae song is Socerely Jane off of the Metropolis: The Chase Suite EP. The emotion in her voice and the great commentary on society are simply amazing.
phandroid says :
"Sincerely, Jane" is my favorite J. Monae song! And her cover of "Smile" is simply awesome. Thanks KCET!
Tombowers2 says :
Without doubt 57821, what a tune, the song instantly puts me into a trance with its melody and Janelles haunting vocals. The story of cybertronic romance perfectly embodies.
shazzar says :
My favorite song by Janelle Monae is "Cold War" because it is powerful and expresses that we're in a war everyday we wake up. It may not be a war filled with violence, but it may be a war of words, and even the words we think that determine our self-esteem and identity.
Ed says :
My favorite Janelle Monae song is "Sincerely, Jane"!
fpigeon says :
Mushrooms and Roses explores some really interesting psychadelic rock styles. Lyrically it takes on more of the emotional of the android world.

Tightrope!
bert says :
off the top of my head, i'd say Tightrope, but i try 2 listen 2 Mr President @ least 1ce/wk...
Tamæra says :
Picking a favorite is pretty tough, but I *think* I can narrow it down to two: "Dance or Die" (super catchy/dancy, plus I'm a BIG Saul Williams fan) and "Mushrooms & Roses" (I love the psychedelic vibe, as well as her creepy-yet-somehow-soothing distorted vocals). Her music spans so many styles and genres that you can't really have just one favorite. Ms. Monáe is really phenomenal. ♥
Evan says :
My favorite changes almost every day, but right now it is definitely "Cold War." Beautiful song, moving video.

My favorite Janelle Monae song is the final track on her album, the amazing 8+ minute "BaBopByeYa." So cinematic and noir sounding, I can listen to it all day! I would have loved to see her perform with the live orchestra at Emory University. Thanks!
