Governor Schwarzenegger's Controversial Last Act

Commentary:
In one of his last acts in office, former Governor Schwarzenegger commuted the prison sentence of the son of the former Speaker of the California Assembly, Fabian Nunez. Questions abound as to whether Schwarzenegger's action was political motivated. Even if the reduction in Esteban Nunez's sentence was appropriate, it is unlikely that other similarly situated prisoners would obtain the Governor's attention.

Governor Brown's draft 2011-2012 budget proposes to realign California's stew of governments . . . but only a little.
Environment:
When it comes to solar power, a symbol of renewable energy, environmentalists are not all on the same side of the fence. Case in point: last weekend in the Chuckwalla Valley on the eastern end of Joshua Tree National Park where about 45 people gathered to protest a number of planned solar power projects.
