Back in January the estimate was that California was in debt, to the tune of $9.2 billion. Now it's close to $16 billion.

Commentary:
Palm Springs has a conflicted relationship with good taste. The town is a somewhat self-conscious shrine to the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic, with houses, bank buildings and diners reflecting that artistic movement.

The Obama administration has made it no secret that green energy is the heart of its economic plan, not to mention its re-election bid.
