The Apache: One of Chevy's Most Famous Trucks, California Made
June 7, 2012 4:55 PM
Notes of a Native Daughter:
I've come to realize that so many classic cars and trucks are like emblems of American history, but the Apache truly gets a particular kind of sentimental, historic, and intense love from people of all races, backgrounds, and regions.
Commentary:
Brown is the new black, something that can be both troubling and inspiring when you're trying to be a role model for the future.

If you can't play with a sense of humor, why bother?
Culver City: From Barley Fields to the Heart of Screenland
June 6, 2012 4:19 PM
LA as Subject:
On June 20, the Expo Line arrives in Culver City, a town that sprang from the barley fields of Rancho La Ballona and grew into "The Heart of Screenland."
Commentary:
Conservatives prevailed in most contests, incumbents had a bit of an advantage, and turnout was spotty. With few exceptions, this was a typical off-season election in the California desert. Commentary:
Regardless of your party affiliation, or lack of affiliation, I encourage each of you to go to the mailbox or the ballot box and exercise a right too many of us take for granted. Money may be treated as speech, but votes can send a pretty loud message as well.
Where We Are:
In a welter of choices, how to choose?
