About Me:
Have camera will travel Photography has been a big part of my life since I was 5 years old, I bought a Kodak Brownie box camera at a thrift store for .75 cents, that was the start. I bought a Kodak 620 Monitor at the age of 12, the same age I learned to develop and print my own work. I love all sorts of history and the role that photography has played in recording the ephemeral nature of what was largely lost to time. I’ve had many influences and teachers over the years, moving over to 35mm in 1975 and transgressed to the “darkside”, digital in 2003. I worked about 10 years as a custom printer and all around lab rat, I have some knowledge of the arcane chemical alchemy that was photography. I am picky about how my photos are printed, so I am happy that we all can scan the old stuff, and with the help of Photoshop share our photos with the World. So far I have only scratched the surface of the archives, and the archives are deep, every road trip I have gone on in the last 40 years. The main thing I do is document the journey, my interest what cultural anthropologist call T.O.A.D.E.S. I believe the journey is the thing, I hope to share my passion for photography, the discovery of place with anyone who might be interested. I am a working photographer and have always done things differently than the standard, and I earned my living doing many things other than photography. Most pro-photographers shoot stock or personal photos while on assignment, all of my photos are personal, but I have shot weddings and portraits as favors for friends. My hope is that you like the photographs and the stories from my life’s journey’s. I have started to share the 37,000 and counting photographs. If you like my photographs please buy them, it will not offend me. I am glad to accept help and or opinions, drop me a line. I’m friendly and like to talk.
