About Me:
Ed Fuentes is an arts journalist, photographer, graphic designer, and digital muralist and has been covering the Inland Empire, the High Desert, and downtown Los Angeles -- including murals and street art -- for KCET’s Departures since 2010. He lived downtown for 13 years, and still covers regional art and culture with his blog, viewfromaloft.org which began in the Arts District in 2006. “He may be little-known to large segments of the city he loves, but in downtown, his voice has endured,” wrote the Los Angeles Times in March 2012. Fuentes has held Art Director staff positions at Variety and NBC, plus a tour of duty in advertising agencies. He is now enrolled in an Integrated Studies program that will, in part, survey the role of online media in the growth of community.
