I find it more than a little odd when groups like this talk about "positive messages," yet employ a mode of expression derived from a criminal subculture. "Hip hop" is not art; it is vapid, mindless, uncreative pop culture....

"Graffiti artist" is an oxymoron. And the people who practice this "art" are just plain morons, in addition to criminals. Even if they do it in sanctioned places rather than on public property, it is disgusting, arising as it does...

Excellent article! I still like to think of California as it is depicted in the railroad ads and on the fruit crate labels of the early 20th century. I know it's a romantic notion with no resemblance to the California...
