Title

2011 KCET Women's Council Star Luncheon

KCET honored the exemplary service and dedication of two extraordinary leaders Shirley Baskin Familian and Betty Underwood Deutsch at the seventh annual STAR Luncheon that took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in September 2011.

Shirley Baskin Familian

Shirley
Baskin Familian has been a passionate leader since KCET went on the air in 1964. She was deeply involved in establishing the KCET Women's Council, a voluntary group that supports KCET's vision and mission in the community, and also has served on the KCET Board of Directors. Her vision and energy have ignited the enthusiasm of volunteers as well as viewers for nearly five decades.

Betty Underwood Deutch

Betty
Underwood Deutsch continually has widened the circle of KCET supporters since 1977. A dedicated and inspiring Women's Council president from 1992-1993, Betty has graciously opened her beautiful home for volunteer projects and special events throughout the years. A former Hollywood starlet from Ohio, Betty came to Los Angeles under contract with Warner Bros. and appeared in numerous films at RKO including Girl from Jones Beach with Ronald Reagan.

KCET celebrates these remarkable women's past and continued contributions to public television and KCET.
